Kṛṣṇa (God) adopts the colour of the blue rain cloud for His complexion so beautifully – because if someone is suffering from so much heat, looking at a rain cloud gives one relief, it gives hope that rain will come, and one will be relieved from one’s suffering. Those who think that the wind can blow this cloud away and no rain will fall may feel a little hopeless. Therefore, Kṛṣṇa (God) adopts the blue colour of the rain cloud, so that people will feel He will shower His rain of mercy, and relieve them from their sufferings. And in order to give confirmation that for sure this cloud will give this shower of rain, and not be blown away, He wears lightning-like yellow cloth, which resembles the lightning from a cloud, because in a rain cloud if there is lightning, there is full guarantee that the rain will surely come. Therefore, He wears the lightning-like yellow cloth to assure that the rain of His mercy will surely shower on all.
